Morvarid is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist and silversmith. Her work is related to encompassing social and cultural issues about her own experience of life. Drawing inspiration from her identity, culture, and background; Morvarid wants to create a challenge to have a better understanding of material culture and create interactive metalworks.
She is fascinated by the noble metals, especially their movements. She believes her work with metal is the performative way and exaggeration of her emotion to bring shapes to metal. As a result, she wants to push these movements further through traditional silversmithing. A Royal College of Art MA graduate and Bishopsland Educational Trust alumna, Morvarid, currently a Silver Fellow at Yorkshire Artspace, continues her research,
pushing the boundaries of traditional silversmithing.
