Megan is an Artist, Jeweller and Silversmith. She is inspired by a unique ancestry which began with her great, great, Grandfather Herbert Brown, who set up a jewellers and weaving company over 180 years ago.
Megan trained in the traditional art of jewellery making after first studying Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art. Since then, she has worked as a goldsmith and bespoke designer, before setting up her own business ‘Megan Brown Jewellery’. In 2020 she went on to study silversmithing at Bishopsland Educational Trust where she learnt the skills, she needed to create her large woven artworks from internationally recognised silversmiths, including Rod Kelly and Miriham Hanid. Whilst there she was awarded two grants, one by the Arts Society, the second by the Worshipful Company of Weavers to create a silver woven centrepiece, which she created in 2023 entitled ‘The Veiled Sculpture’. Her work is owned by private clients and collectors, including the Goldsmiths’ Company who recently acquired her Woven Brooch for their collection.
