Helena Russell
Helena’s pieces range from vessels, which intrigue the user through their form, to containers and candlestick holders that are inspired by mechanical mechanisms and movements. Her practice involves a mix of materials, a combination of sterling silver and base metals such as copper and brass which go through a process of patination to create blue, green and purple colours on the surface of the metal. This particular technique has become an integral part of her practice.
Helena is currently based in Yorkshire Artspace’s Starter Studio where she shares a workshop with fellow up-coming jewellers and silversmiths.
